Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
